Anger

The science behind anger:

Anger is an intense emotional response generated by the body during certain situations where a person may feel that their tolerance boundaries have been breached.

Two major classifications or types of anger include passive anger – a mode where the person is unable to channel out his or her anger directly at the source generating anger and aggressive anger – where the person vehemently tries to protect his or her interests when faced with a difficult and challenging situation.

The neuroimaging studies of anger have displayed high activity in the lateral orbitofrontal cortex during an emotionally angry stage. This is the same area of the brain that is highly active during the motivation and positive affective processes providing scientists with early proof that anger may inhibit cognitive growth during certain extreme conditions.

What are the most common types of anger and how they can negatively or positively impact your life?

Psychologists normally classify anger into three main types – I will strongly recommend you to analyze which category of anger you feel the most.
